Food Photography: Turon / Sagimis

This is my entry for @juliank #foodphotography contest.

Our snack is called Turon or Sagimis which is all about banana with sugar and jack fruit wrapped in a spring roll pastry and in Wikipedia this is the description.

And now let's proceed with the ingredients:

banana (ours came from Philippines hence this was already pre-cooked[slightly cooked]), red sugar, jack fruit (optional), spring roll pastry

How To:

1) Fold the spring roll pastry in a triangular shape.

2) Cut the jack fruit as per your desired size.

3) Slice the banana in half.

4) Now roll the banana on the red sugar to add an additional sweetness.

5) Now lay the spring roll pastry on the plate, put the half sliced rolled in sugar banana on top and a sliced of a jack fruit.

6) Now fold the 2 sides of the spring roll pastry, this will end up like an envelope shape.

7) Now roll it over.

8) Now put a little water on the tip of the spring roll pastry to close the rolled banana.

9) Now they are ready to be cooked and make sure your cooking oil is hot before you fry them.

10) Once you've taken the cooked Turon from the cooking pan, I suggest you use a strainer to drain the excess oil.

11) Now the Turons are ready to be served. Enjoy!
