Shanghai Dishes in Shanghai Lao Lao Resturant

Golden Braised Meat Balls in Brown Sauce

Braised Meat Balls is a traditional Shanghai dish. If you directly translate the Chinese name, it should be "braised lion head" to be exact, because the meat ball looks like a lion head, although those are actually pork. This restaurant add the word "golden" in the name. The "gold" is talking about the salted duck egg inside. Braised head is definitely my personal favorite. Adding a salted duck egg also a good way to improve the dish, as salted duck egg is usually used with pork.
### Osmanthus Jiuniang Dumplings This is a traditional dissert made by Glutinous rice ball and wine soup. The wine is also made by Glutinous rice.
### Steamed Pork Dumplings If you search this name, you won't find the exact thing, since in English, there are no exact special name for this traditional Shanghai food. The name in Chinese is "小籠包". This special dumpling stored the soup with the pork inside it. Therefore, after you chew it, the soup will spill inside your mouth, giving you a special mouthfeel.
### Noodle with Pork & Vegetable Wontons in Chilli Oil Noodle are served with a Chicken & Wolfberry Soup
