The Italian court today sentenced Brazilian Robson de Souza Santos, known as Robinho, to nine years in prison for participating in a gang rape of a girl at a Milan nightclub in 2013, according to local media.
In the Ninth Circuit, Judge Mariolina Panstay condemned crimes at the Milan court, the player of the January 22, 2013 incident when Robinho, while playing for the Milan team, raped a 22-year-old Albanian girl.
The rape involved five other people, according to the same sources.
Robinho, 33, now plays for Atletico Mineiro after moving to Real Madrid (2005-2008) and Manchester City (2008-2010).
The player had denied his involvement in the incident when there were reports of Italian authorities investigating the incident.
