Crystal Palace deserved a praise for their combative performance against favorites Arsenal on Sunday game at Selhurst Park. Despite numerous difficulties experienced in the second half, the hosts were able to gnaw out a dramatic 2:2 draw.

The Eagles had a bright start and created a string of good chances in front. Organized and persistent Roy Hodgeson’s men finally earned their goal after Shkodran Mustafi fouled Cheikhou Kouyate in the penalty area and referee given the hosts a spot-kick. Palace captain Luka Milivojevic fired his first goal of the season with ease.

Gunners drew level by scoring a definite goal of the game – a free-kick by Granit Xhaka on the 51st minute. Swiss makeshift left-back performed wonderful curl coming straight to the top corner hitting off the bar – it was his fifth consecutive goal for Arsenal scored from outside the box.

Five minutes after the Gunners took the lead with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang pushed the ball into the opposition’s net after the corner kick. Crystal Palace fans might feel that Wayne Hennessey saved the shot, but VAR resolved the ball had crossed the line by nine millimeters.

But the Palace fought to the end, pushing their versatile forwards up front and finally earned their second penalty kick of the game. Wilfried Zaha being brought down by free-kick hero Xhaka inside the box. Maybe he went down a little bit too easy, but generally the penalty decision was fair. And once again Milivojevic made a difference for his side, firing such important equalizer from the spot.

A 2:2 draw seems the fair result for both sides, Gunners as well as Eagles may be satisfied to earn a point after such a tough game.
