The 20th-ranked Virginia Tech Hokies finally get to start their season on Saturday in a game against ACC foe North Carolina State.

Virginia Tech’s defense is returning a ton of experience from last season. Nine defensive starters come back from the unit that finished second in the ACC in interceptions a year ago. On offense, head coach Justin Fuente has announced that

QB Hendon Hooker will get the start,

but also that Oregon transfer

Braxton Burmeister will see playing time as well.

Out of the backfield VT has Rutgers

transfer Raheem Blackshear, who is a

dynamic player that can hurt

defenses on the ground or in the passing game.

and Zonovan Knight. The two combined for 196 yards and three TDs last week. It won’t be nearly as easy for them against VT though, especially with the Hokies experienced secondary, Tech could just stack the box all day and force NC State to throw.
