Some Babylonian Talmudic Rabbis, obviously completely missing the point, insist that it was the Quince fruit "of the forbidden knowledge" that Adam and Eve ate at the Garden of Eden, since apparently the "quince flourished in the heat of the Mesopotamian plain, where apples did not." I think that they have missed the boat on that one, and pretty much everything else.
