Forgotten Friday: An Abandoned House in the Rainforest.

in forgottenfriday •  8 years ago

It's Friday again, and that means it's time for another installment of Forgotten Friday!  Today, it's about a old, abandoned house made out of concrete that we found in a Portuguese rainforest.

How Blaire Witch-like is that???  It was located in a small patch of rainforest right along Lake Furnas on the island of Sao Miguel.... which is a volcano crater that has filled with water.  I tried to find some information about this house for the blog, but came up empty handed.  Not sure if its as a residential home, or a municipal structure, or what.  Still, the state of decay was very cool, very creepy, and very picturesque.

The place has be gutted of all useful material, but a once grande looking fireplace was still in the one corner looking cool.  Anyway, that concludes this edition of Forgotten Friday!

Very, very 'Blair Witch'. That's one of my favorite films of all time too. I am looking at these pictures and I recall the part of the movie where they tell the story of the kids being forced to face the wall as their captor killed them one by one.

Very cool, thanks for sharing. It would be exciting to stumble upon such a thing during a walk thru the woods!

Oh we were excited! I love seeing abandoned structures and stuff. This was especially cool being in the rainforest.

That looks spooky as hell , no way i would go in there.

Spooky and very beautiful. One word I quoted from this post. Meaning we always have to be able to see from all sides. Thank you for sharing, hope you are always happy wherever you are.
Best regards from me @rizasukma best friend steemit

Thats creepy. I got the chills just looking through the photos, I can only imagine exploring it! lol

Before I opened the post.. I thought of a horror movie house.. it sure is creepy but sure is something interesting to stumble upon. ^^

A nice place to chill.
And for ghost spotting too... ಠᴗಠ

Very adventurous. Would be fun to have a small barbecue session there with friends.

Old house is scary in the night

is this place is a haunted house????

It definitely looks like it could be! No ghosts were spotted while we were there though. :)

its always been my dream to live one night in any of these haunted house.btw can you give me the location?

I didn't know Portugal had rainforests. How interesting. Looking it up now.
Gotta love the internet. Thanks

The Azores have them.... or at least, they sure seem like rainforests. I can't say 100% if they were, technically. Very warm, very humid, and very tropical looking. lol Here was an area where we were swimming around in a volcano-heated waterfall.

It's a paradise, whatever it is...lucky you. How frickin cool:)

Great my friend, I'm still improving with oil painting!

When will we see the first piece, @troilo?!

In one week/one months, depends on my other activities. =)

If there are ghosts in the house

It sure looks like a good place for ghosts to hang out, @sweetgirl!

Thanks for sharing. I actually looked this place up on Wiki and the history dates back quite a ways back. When I google mapped it...there was a dock looking brick where two men sat...bricked looked similar to the house.

Really?! All I could find were a few stock photos of it. Around what year did they say it was built??

It didn't say...Looks as old and as weathered as the house...That island though has a history of settlers dating all the way back to the 1400's...Check it out on Wiki...very interesting.

Nice pictures, following you now.

Cool... I like it :)

Very spooky. I will post some urbex photos soon, taken in Belgium.

One creepy house, Hollywood could use d house in one of their haunted houses in d future

That is super creepy. It would be an interesting place to meditate... once.
