Forgotten Friday: Inside Irish Castle Ruins + 360° Photo.

in forgottenfriday •  8 years ago  (edited)

It's Friday again!  That means my third installment of "Forgotten Friday".  A few days ago, I posted a sunset photo of Roslee Castle in Co. Sligo, Ireland.  (Sunset Sunday! at the Roslee Castle, Co. Sligo, Ireland.) Well, here are a few photos from INSIDE the castle!

Roslee was one of the oldest ruins we saw on this trip.  It was built right around 1204.  She stands around 60 feet tall, or so, but had a surprisingly small foot print.  Standing in the middle of the dirt floor, I'd estimate it to only be around 15ft x 15ft.  I was thinking that a tall structure on such a small base would be top heavy and unstable.... but then I realized the walls were almost 5 feet thick!

This trip was also the first time we ever had a 360° camera with us.  My brother, @kommienezuspadt, purchased a Ricoh Theta S camera a few months prior and shipped it out to me so we could borrow in for the trip.  I took a photo with it while standing in the center of the ruins.

Wow thanks for the 360 one. I have been looking for a 360 camera to do some 360 vids, still haven't made the plunge.
