This a Derawar fort

This is a so beautiful fort due to its wonderful construction 🚧 .Derawar fort is large square fortress located in Ahmadpur east tehsil,Punjab,Pakistan approximately 100 km from Bahawalpur in south direction .Derawar fort is composed of 40 bastions which are visible from many Miles in the cholistan dessert the walls of Derawar fort have a perimeter 1500 meter and standup to 30 meters high.

History of Derawar Fort....

This fort was built by Rai Jajja bhatti a rajput ruler of bhatti clan. The fort was built in 9th Century AD as a tribute to Rawal Deoraj Bhatti a rajput sovereign king 👑 of the jaisalmer and Bahawalpur areas who was capital of ludhruva. The fort was initially known as Dera Rawal and later Dera Rawar which with the passage of time pronounced to be Derawar its present name.

In the 18th century this was taken over by Muslims Nawab of Bahawalpur from shahotr tribe. It was later renivated by Abbasi rulers but in 1747 th the fort slipped from their hand ✋ and swing to Bahawal khan's.

Tourism in Derawar Fort. ....

Derawar fort is great place for tourist. The off road Cholistan rally was recently held near this fort and huge tourists were came here to see this iconic view.
