For Chapter 3: Season 3, the battle royale takes a more relaxed approach.
The current season of Fortnite is surprisingly laid-back after a few months of intense conflict — including a live event last night starring a massive mech — In reality, the game's third chapter's third season is dubbed Vibin'. It offers a number of major modifications to the island, including new areas such as an amusement park with a rollercoaster and a strange-looking forest called Reality Falls with magical saplings that players may plant and raise for greater treasure.
Here's how the western tip of Fortnite's island looks right now:
The Baller, a fan-favorite vehicle, returns in this season's gameplay (which looks a bit like a giant hamster ball). However, it has been somewhat altered: it now has greater health, can float on water, and has a charge that will ultimately run out. You can also seem to take one to the rollercoaster and let loose. Season 3 adds the ability to ride on boars, as well as a new feature dubbed "storm sickness." Epic Games, the creators of Fortnite, put it thus way:
If you stay in the storm for too long in a match, you'll develop storm sickness, an illness that accelerates the storm's health degradation. But don't worry: storm illness is never unexpected; if you're about to get it, you'll get a warning. Fortunately, storm sickness may be avoided by simply getting out of the storm. However, if you re-enter it, it will immediately impact you.
A new season, of course, implies a new battle pass to buy, which means more characters to discover. Darth Vader (who would make an excellent pair partner for Obi-Wan) is the season's centerpiece, but there's also a new toy-like figure called Snap that you can personalize by unlocking extra limbs. Battle pass users will be able to access Indiana Jones later in the season, who stands out in stark contrast to the season's considerably more colorful roster.
The new season comes after Resistance, which is most known for introducing Fortnite's now-permanent Zero Build mode — but players can still play the conventional build-and-shoot mode if they choose.
