The African wild dogs are also known as African hunting dog, African painting dog or painted wolf is associated with sub Saharan African. The African wild dog is one of the species going into extinction and the only extanct member of these genus lycaon with a fewer toes and dentition which is highly specialized for a hypercarnivorous diet. The decline of African wild dogs is ongoing due to habitat fragmentation, human prosecution and diseasesl outbreaks.
Something special about African painting dogs is that they are highly social animals, living in packs with separate dominance hierachies for males and females. It is the females rather than the males that scatter from the natal pack once sexually matured and the young are allowed to feed first on carcasses. They hunt antelopes by chasing them to exhaustion, it regurgitates food for their young but this action is extended to the adults to the point if being the bedrock of African wild dog social life. Lions and Hyenas are major predators.
It's my first post on esteem help like and resteem if found educating and interesting.
