I am a musician and a developer/crypto fan.
I feel that everyone of us must try to give some free stuff to the people, to help to improve the world with a small contribution.
So in 2001 I created a free ebooks website.
Years passed and plain HTML was obsolete, so I redesigned the website to use a Db and php.
I started also publishing users submitted ebooks and I created a Google Custom Search (meta search) to find ebooks among many huge free ebooks repositories.
I also made the site responsive with jQuery Mobile and made some nice improvements from time to time.
Here it is (it's free and has no ads!)
What you can do to support this free ebooks project? Of course, just upvote ;)
As a student, websites like yours are worth so much :). I tried to find some well known programming books without success. Did you know about https://it-ebooks-search.info? You may add them to your cataloque so I can finally find the books I personally need on your website :)

Thank you... Many students (high school or university) used my website, especially from poor countries, and many emailed me to let me know it.

Nice that you got that feedback. I think you did a really good thing and deserve that respect! I got an idea while reading your comment: Provide a version with adds and let the user choose between those two versions. The money you may make could be spent to pay the schoolbooks for poor childs :) (or you keep it yourself)
I started here this morning myself and had the same question :D I tried some html without any success. There is a tutorial here on steemit.. I will search it for you :)

The domain and database do have a cost (not so much).
In the past I has some ads but now I stopped with them.
I prefer to use the website to promote some of my artists friends or some of my music, from time to time.
Schoolbooks are boring and not really useful for poor people, I think that free ebooks can be more useful ;)

Thats fine. I have some websites myself and know about the costs. Depending on the topic of the ads its pretty hard to make some real money.
