Reddit still has plenty of niche subs that steemit doesn't quite cover yet. I often use reddit for computer or car help. But yeah, stay off the default subs. I am definitely looking to steemit more and more.

Well for me steemit kind of looks like place where people just post stolen or semi stolen content in masses. But I am sure if you find right topic this may be fine as well.
Money aspect is this do change things a bit, like bot posting and commenting. Do not remember that being large problem in Reddit.
