Democratic attacks on free speech: Not watching that comedian, or buying tickets to that movie. Expressing disagreement. Allowing firms to act in accordance with consumer preferences.
Republican attacks on free speech: Banning books, calling for the summary arrest of political opponents, banning various forms of speech and expression, mass shootings targeting forms of expression they don’t like.
Cancel culture is part of free speech. It’s a necessary part. If you oppose it, you oppose free speech.
Disagreement is not persecution.
