Have you ever had a DREAM of building your own business?
I have, and currently am working on building a business. I finally understand what my final 'mental-block' was, preventing me from doing what was necessary to build a successful, thriving massage business!
First, I thought I wasn't building my business because I was afraid of what people will think of me, advertising my business, what if I failed? What if I looked foolish? This was indeed, a factor. I decided however, that I won't let what someone MAY be thinking, or what they 'MIGHT' say, stop me from living my life on my terms, working in a career that gives me fulfilment, because I believe in the work and love it.
Second, I thought I was concerned that maybe I wouldn't do as good a job as I want to (though I am fully qualified and every client has given me genuine, feedback, and have been very relaxed after massage, sa they should be).
This concern came about because it's new to me. Massage is after all, very different from the job I have held for over a decade in office work - quite a new field to get used to indeed! Also I have to be completely self-motived to act!
This isn't such a big deal now; I know I can do a good job.
So what really was stopping me taking massive action on my very own business, career of my making?
Getting past both of these points above (for the most part), I now know the BIGGEST factor for me not taking action is that I must be not only willing to, but I must strongly DESIRE (have a burning desire) to trade a great deal of my currently spare/wasted time in order to be succesful - in ADDITION to a job and all my other responsibilites and commitments.
I must go from hours of 'chilling out, relaxing', watching TV or playing video games, and instead build and WORK on my business: advertising, talking to people, sharing my business cards and following up clients, travelling to clients sometimes, washing of towels (not that that takes long, all things add up though), keeping stocks up (investing more capital where necessary on good quality oils) - paper work required and so on.

That we need these three things as a start for business building:
We must invest time, energy (emotional and physical) and money (which is really more time if we currently trade hours for money) to BUILD!
that doing productive things in our spare time, is the only way to no longer rely on working in a job that is non-engaging (one that is not inline with your values and natural talents)
So for me - desire to help as many people in their bodies with massage is priority nuber 1!
It's very exciting building your own business.
I for one value freedom above all else, as such MOST of my activities now are focused towards creating more freedom in my life, and while I will have more responsibilites running my own business, I will also have more freedom.
THE BIGGEST FREEDOM IN LIFE, IS FREEDOM FROM OUR OWN NEGATIVE THINKING AND VICES
I can wear what I choose works best for a massage business, arrange times that suite me and my clients not just a straight 8 hours of being in an office which for many of us, can be quite un-enjoyable or even spirit crushy, mind-numbing and body deteriorating (at least with poor posture/motionless work).
We must do what we love for work/career, we only live once, so do it on your terms.
