Travel gear posts are always very educating, specially when they are on the minimalist side. Having few stuff, each one with a specific purpose brings a wonderful ease of mind. Too much stuff weigh us down, both physically and mentally.
Its admirable that you could fit everything in one bag considering that you pack camping gear and travel with two dogs! The solar panel is a great addition if you are semi/off-the grid.
If you don't want to curry a laptop you could try a travel keyboard with trackpad. They hook up to your smartphone and make typing much, much easier. They don't weigh much either (around 200 grams)
