Yes it is a rabbit hole and I spent weeks on it at one point. Daily my partner would make me walk away because I was freaking myself out.

It's easy to do. I take one day a week where I don't listen to podcasts about it, I don't think about it (as little as I can anyhow), and I don't research it. It's important to have that break from harsh reality at least every once in a while.

Breaks are needed. We probally should do as you, take a day away from it. What ends up happening for us is we go on truther binges then the next thing we know we are overloaded and totally disconnect from the world (no cell phones and so on). During that time we might watch some mindless TV show or play video games. The only problem we have is if we watch a TV show we end up seeing the subliminal and point them out to each other... same with video games lol... ok so we are a little hopeless ^^
