5 Times "Obeying the Law" in America was a Terrible Idea

My first thought upon reading the title: "Only 5? You must not have been trying that hard." :P

You make some great examples though. It's easier to see how absurd it is when you look at historical examples. The sad fact is that someone doesn't even have to break the law. Simply defying what a cop tells you to do, or being a bit slow to act, is often enough for someone to justify their actions. How often have you heard someone say that they should have followed the cops instructions? Hell, there are even quite a few cases where people have said that kids shouldn't have been playing with a fake gun if they didn't want to get shot. They don't even sell realistic-looking fake guns in stores anymore, because a cop just might shoot you if your toy looks too realistic.
