On this Independence Day Eve, the worldwide revolution against the worldwide market socialist (with both Fascist and Neo-Marxist elements) tyranny is in full swing. Nationalist political groups are threatening its political structure. Blockchains are threatening its financial structure. And just as importantly, a rediscovery of the Thomistic Christian tradition is threatening its cultural structure.
Why is this last element of the general challenge to the status quo so important? Because the Thomistic tradition is what led to Protestantism, which led to the Atlantic Enlightenment, which led to Locke, which led to Thomas Jefferson, which led to the American Revolution - the great project of individual liberty in which every individual is able to claim their birthright as holders of the divine spark.
In the last revolution to establish freedom, it was preceded by a "great awakening." This was a spiritual awakening that made the American people remember that they were children of God, not to be lorded over by earthly tyrants. Now, in this new awakening, that realization has become much better articulated and far more overt in the works of people like Dr. Jordan Peterson, Ben Shapiro, and Andrew Klavan, among many, many others.
This spiritual awakening will help us secure our freedoms even more thoroughly and completely than our ancestors were able to do for themselves, and it will free the globe and launch us into the stars.
