Jim Ostrowski writes:
"It's now obvious that Trump will be another big government, progressive president of the same general type as we have had since FDR. Coolidge was the last president who didn't make government bigger and more powerful. Trump will do both.
Where he promises to make government bigger, the military, day care, trade, immigration enforcement affecting all citizens (e.g., asking for papers inside the country), he will succeed. Where he promises to shrink government, e.g., regulations, some spending cuts, he will be less successful.
The bottom line as far as I can tell now is that government will be somewhat bigger and more powerful in four years than it is now.
Trump has not reached out to libertarians or shown the slightest interest in our ideas or proposals.
The Liberty Movement, if such a thing still exists, needs to move on and try to recapture the populist spirit and energy it had when Ron Paul ran for President and which has gone to Trump by default."
