I have lately been trying to recover data from a dead computer, with a fair bit of success. One of my old hard drives contained the torrent archives of the Freedom Feens podcast and radio show. Way back in 2011, Michael W. Dean and Neema Vedadi collaborated on an independent documentary film entitled Guns and Weed: The Road to Freedom. They followed this up by starting a podcast, which eventually became a syndicated radio program.
Prior to radio, the podcast had varying levels of profanity, so be aware that there is cussin' early on. The placeholder name of "the guns and weed podcast" from March of 2011 didn't really fit the array of topics discussed, so the name "Freedom Feens" was eventually chosen to combine the slang term for drug fiends and their stance on freedom across the board.
Neema V. eventually had to depart the show on paternity leave, and a rotating roster of co-hosts filled in. @abolitionistjay and @badquakerdotcom here on Steemit were among those co-hosts. The final episode, number 1311, was November 4th, 2018. Several co-hosts have moved on to producing their own liberty media, and Michael W. Dean has been creating weird electronic music. After all, he'd rather just do what he'd be doing in the absence of government anyway. I can't blame him after so many daily episodes.
It's all still worth listening to so many years later. Their goal has always been to turn timely topics into discussions of timeless principles. Their topics range far beyond guns and weed. Give it a go.
