Today I head to the dentist and the procedure they will be giving consultation on will be a first for me. Instead of the usual picking, soaking, drilling, or twist and turn like my last visit a few days ago... this time we will be discussing implants.
Growing up, and even sometimes now, you could say I neglected myself... my teeth have shown the price so other than getting fillings most things have only been taken out of my mouth. I never had braces and even had my wisdom teeth removed long before adulthood. Actually I’m kinda ok with less teeth as the rear molars always caused me to chew my tongue, it’s a little bigger than it should be(hey ladies 😅 sorry had too). Though loosing some has been a good thing, IMO for the comfort of chewing, the last one was one to many and I no longer have a chewer on the bottom left. Even the tooth I just lost caused me discomfort, constantly impacting it when biting the wrong way I believe is what caused the initial injury which went abscessed... dentist said tooth looked fine.
Anyways, today we talk about an implant and other more affordable options... kinda freaks me out but in my position I have but 3 choices...
- continue on as I am only being able to chew well on one side
- get dentures possible rip out a few more teeth
- implants and possibly a bridge
Depending on what they say my coverage will pay, it will most likely determine the route I can go... I just hope either I can wait for an implant till my coverage at the new job kicks in or my current coverage from Mel will make it affordable enough for me to do before I get “too healed” then requiring multiple visits 🤞 I do not like the alternatives 😕
