#freewriting - The sound of the sirens

in freewrite •  6 years ago

That sound... there it was again. Like always it was hard to figure out the direction it came from. Just like everybody else he stood still, waited... He looked around him, still wearing the earplugs. At first he thought the typical sound was in the music he was listening at.
Some people felt nervous, others just like him felt excitement, wanted to have a closer look.

Where did that sound came from?
Was it behind him, at his left? He turned around, looked closer at the others. Some looked as if they were sleepy, others tried to move slowly forward. Did they hear more as he did or did they want to find a way to get out of here?
He switched off the music and touched for his smartphone and switched the camera on. It would be great if he could make some pictures. He was sure that if so he could make a lot of money out of it.

He stayed within the slowly forwards moving group.
There was no need to be the first, he only needed to end somewhere in the front to capture the scenery with his camera.
Carefully he walked in between the men in front of him. They all looked into the same direction, the direction of that typical sound. He never been so close to it.

Finally he was able to see what was going on.
The most beautiful creatures he ever saw. It was not the sound of the sirens, but the looks that took his breath away. As one of them opened her wings and looked at him he knew the only thing he wanted was to be with her forever.

Dear @wakeupkitty

This is going to be little bit off-topic comment. Hope you don't mind. As you may know I will be heading to europe soon and I realized that I may be quite busy catching up with Polish family once I see them again.

So I figured that I will extend all delegations for another 1 month (until end of march 2019). Just wanted to let you know :)

Hope you will continue being active and supportive towards our little steemit community we managed to create together.

Yours
Piotr

I wish you a great visit and a stresdless time!. Whatever you decide if fine and no worries. If the connection works I am there and I wrote all names down!

Thank you my dear @wakeupkitty :)

Very nicely written :) this sounds like a very scary ritual. I was thinking about using the mythological siren call as well, you used it quite well here. I also like the blend of modern and myth, it's always a fascinating way to do fantasy tales.

Looking forward to your story.
I think if you want to keep the old tales alive you need to modernize it a bit.

Thanks for taking the time to read it and your comment.
