I love it when my local coin shoppe doesn't have rent money, then has a 40% off sale, as soon as I walk through the door.
I always try to visit Sam on the last day of the month because I spend all month looking for things I need for my collection, and make note, then when he hits me with a 40% discount, I jump all over it.
This 1929 Brown Seal National Note from the Frost Bank of San Antonio has been sitting in his case since March. I told him I would buy it for 40% off and he begrudgingly let me have it. Score!
All San Antonio notes are highly sought-after by collectors. This one is in decent shape but it has ink writing on the reverse, once I fine a better one, I'll sell this one.
Notice the four digit serial number? $50 was a lotta dough in 1929. I have to say that I love me some end of the month clearance sales!
This was the least cluttered counter in the house!
