The way some people chew gum these days, you would think they are practicing vampire movies with their mouths.

Some would even end up biting their tongues, but, they won't stop chewing that particular bubblegum.

Some people could even cause noise pollution with their bubblegums, by using their mouths to produce a baloon out of it, then, subsequently burst it with a sharp annoying sound. This is even done in some primary/secondary school classrooms, both by teachers or students.

Some people would say, "those females who chew gums more, are hookers (those night workers who stand along the road waiting for customers)

What is a Bubblegum?

For the records, a bubblegum is a flavoured candy that's designed to be chewed for a little while and should not swallowed. It's made by mixing a gum base with sweeteners and flavorings.

Advantages of Chewing Gums:

It has been seen that chewing gum could help reduce weight and improve your memory. It has also been linked to reduced feelings of stress.

Disadvantages of Chewing Bubblegums

The truth is that Chewing too much gum (for a long time) could cause problems like jaw pain, headaches, diarrhea and tooth decay. Chewing sugar-free gum can cause digestive symptoms in people with IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome)

The country that banned Chewing Gum, is Singapore.

There are some very crucial laws stipulated by the Government of Singapore:

  1. You don't urinate anywhere, except in the toilet otherwise, problem. (How I wish some countries could be like this.)

  2. You don't spit anywhere except in the toilet. (This one is strong oO, but, the truth is that you hardly spit anyhow when you country's environment is very clean)

  3. If you don't flush a public toilet, then you would have the government to contend with.

  4. In 1992, chewing of gum was banned in Singapore in an effort to keep the city clean and orderly.

Reasons For The Ban

  1. Singapore banned chewing gum in an effort to keep the City clean and orderly. Some persons would just chew gum, spit them on the Road, another person would then accidentally place his shoes on it. This could mar someone's pair shoes. The Housing and Development Board (HDB) reportedly spent S$150,000 annually to clean up chewing gum litter.

  1. Also, One of the objectives of the ban was to prevent vandals from using spent chewing gums to disrupt Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) services. Before the ban was enforced, there had been many instances in which vandals stuck chewing gum on door sensors of MRT trains, which prevented the doors from functioning properly and causing disruptions in train services
