*Set limits - just like those are necessary for children, people need security in their lives
and to know how to act. If "no" is basically absent from your dictionary, it only makes it
worst for you and the people you interact with.
*Be polite, always- even if others are impolite. It does not mean you agree with them, only
that you are classy and will not lower your standards for anyone. The way people act depends
mostly on you - politeness sets boundaries how you are to be treated and how not.
*Dont be too poshy, but dont push others away. We all know most of the life is consumed by
our family, work and hobbies - and some alone-time. However impressed you are by someone,
let them have enough time and space. Also if you dont have a mood to do something, say you
are ill/busy. Dont say you dont want to or you need more space, that will posh them away.
*Do not try to confront their parents/family/work and make them choose. All need to be considered,
needy people get poshed away. You all need to get along - engage in outdoor activities together or
go to easy sports -all can manage (more or less) like spa or bowling.
*Dont discuss your personal matters with collegues - they are however your competitors and can
twist your stories, make them more "interesting" and circle around. Never forget: who gossips
with you will gossip about you! No exeptions.
These are my 5 rules, learned from experiences. What do you think? Is there something missing?
