First thing we did is dig up and till the area again from last year.
Finding a few little under ground earth critters and worms along the way.
Then we made row markers to let us know what was planted.
Then we got prepared to get dirty and dug a little trenches down the garden to place our seeds in.
We dug our first trench about 2" deep and spaced out our seeds approximately 3-4 inches apart we should start seeing some growth within a week or two.
Then we cupped the soil into a mound so that the rain wouldn't wash the seeds away.(plant where they can get alot of sunlight water often and when sproats appear keep soil moist.)
Then we did the same thing for the lettuce digging the trench about 1/2 inch deep.We spred the seeds evenly into the trench and as you can see our little worn friend wasn't too sure about us and tried to hide .
we planted 3 rows of these so hopefully we'll see some sprouts in the next 7-10 days.(plant in moist well drained soil and keep soil moist for best results then cupping the soil )
Then we planted some bell peppers ,we added in alittle extra fertilized soil to help them grow better and with well drained soil.we made our trench about 1" deep then like the others cupped the soil on-top to help with drainage.
Next we planted in our carrot seeds we have two rows .we dug the trench about 1/2 " down ( when the roots are about 2" well pull them out this is when they are at peek flavor.keeping the soil rich and loose is best but we cupped these as well just loosely.)
I really hope they grow well because our family loves carrots and I find them really expensive as of lately.we should hopefully seen some sprouts in the next 10-14 days.
It's amazing as too how many worms are in this small space to help the plants .Though I am alittle worried as to the American Robin's around his this momma Robin was getting very close and checking out what we were doing (I tossed her a worm she grabbed it and flew off )
Finally we planted our cucumber seeds after digging our trench approximately 1/2 " deep we added in additional fertilized riched soil then we placed our seeds about 3-4 " apart.we hoping to see some seeds in the next 8-10 days.
