The Apollo Crew were kept in quarantine when they returned back to earth after their lunar visit.

There is a famous image of President Nixon talking to the Apollo 11 crew consisting of Michael Collins, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin. This continued until after the Apollo 14 crew returned safely. After this it was decided that the Moon did not contain any deadly diseases. The Apollo 13 crew, who had a malfunction and had to return to Earth, did not have to be quarantined after their re-entry as they didn’t actually walk on the moon.

All the planets in our solar system could fit between the earth and the moon.

Contrary to what most people believe. The moon is extremely far away from the earth. A lunar distance is what we call the distance between the earth and the moon and it averages at 384 402 kilometers. The actual distance varies depending on its orbit.

You could see the creation of the universe inside a black hole.

If you were to survive the journey in to a black hole without getting spaghettified (yes, that's an actual scientific term), you would theoretically see the creation of the universe. Since light that has entered the event horizon of a black hole can't escape, it means that it will be trapped in there forever. Light from The Big Bang that was trapped in a black hole is still there so if you were to go inside a black hole, you would be able to see that light. Your brain might not be able to comprehend the information that the light is containing but it would still be there.

If you were to accelerate towards the speed of light, you would be start seeing stuff behind you.

Light is made up of photons and for you to see something, the photons have to enter your eyes and get processed by your brain. A normal human has a field of view of 180 degrees. Now imagine standing still. You can only see photons that are 180 degrees in front of you. A bunch of photons are flying past your eyes from behind and were you to accelerate towards the speed of light, you could actually catch up to some of those photons and therefore being able to "see behind you".

This happens no matter what speeds you accelerate to. When you're running, your field of view expans but only a fraction of a degree.

63 earths could fit inside Uranus

The radius of the earth is 6 371 km and the radius of Uranus is 25 362 km, meaning that 63 earths could fit inside Uranus.

Think about that for a second.

Cool post. Didn't realize the moon was so far away. Looks like it's just past the horizon.

I felt the same way, was blown away when my astronomy teacher told me about this.
