Well that has given me a surprise day of smiles.

It all started from that song I put in my last post on here.

You see I cajoled my good lady into watching it this morning, as she was very stressed and upset about something, and I knew it would put a huge grin on her face, it did. She though noticed that the band Phat Bollard had a lot more videos, posted by the public on youtube, so I set about watching them, whilst researching (making sure I have got facts correct) my next long form post "the control grid"......

I also spent some time researching this fantastic group of misfits, that refuse to be shifted when the council workers (order followers) come along and try to move them on. So below is a magazine exert, with a link to said full article.

Phat Bollard might just be the most important group you’ve never heard of. Hailing from Cornwall, England, they survive by busking the streets, touring the UK and living out of their van. Generally a five piece unit featuring two guitars, mandolin, washtub bass and percussion, they raise a ruckus with joyful noise and highly nuanced songs that deal with some of today’s most important issues. Their lyrics confront listeners into thinking about poverty, inequality and waste, but point to a higher path via love, nature and- above all- change. And in their scrappy, irreverent, heavily accented delivery, one can trace musical threads from the early English bards to punk rock. Source.

If you want a listen to their album online, or if you want to buy a copy, here is a link for you, should you enjoy their fantastically different music and lyrics. https://phatbollard.bandcamp.com/album/spare-a-little-change-2

And without any further waffle from me, here is a song titled simply "millionaires"...

In a world full of frustration and anger!

Take time to laugh and smile, and for sure, when I am researching some articles, I get as down as anyone else does, so these guys really had me giggling, whilst I surf the interweb for information re that post.

I hope the lyrics at least - on the album, free to listen to online, are clear enough for @sunlit7 to be able to hear, if not, you may require a translator, I am available for the price of 1 beer per hour, Guinness of course. :-)

Wishing you all a superb day and week ahead, keep smiling, and do not let the bastards grind you down, as my step father used to say!........

Priceless! I've never given more than coins to buskers, but they'd have gotten notes from me!

Going cashless should put a stop to riff raff like that. Wouldn't want them earning while the poor millionaires miss out.

And you get it. :-) I knew you were clued up anyway,

That song has me grinning too! Fantastic. Thanks for posting - I'll check out more from this band.

Cheers my friend, they have had me grinning from ear to ear all day. :-)

I love their high energy and enthusiasm. They make me laugh and cry at the same time....

:-) Had me laughing all day the buggers have. :-)

This Yankee can follow along but I'm fluent in Guinness

Good on you, likes ya style. :-)

Is there any other language?

... and I knew it would put a huge grin on her face, it did.

It had me in stitches! 😆

I have been laughing so hard all day at these guys, what a great start to the week. :-)

Nice video and they are well able to sing as well. Good buskers can always add life to the streets.

True that my - friend true that. :-)

Great advice from your step father.

This one was a lot clear, maybe because they were singing straight on rather then off to the side when they were recording the other one. I think we all find some self justice singer song writer that touches us more deeply then others, usually people we've never heard before. That's why I like Billie Meyers so much. I came upon her cd's via a collect of female artist someone had accumulated over some debt and I bought them cheaply from him. I use to play her cd's in my shop and women would often just stop and ask who is that...and I'd tell them some woman named Billie Meyers I got in a collection of cd's I bought on the cheap, and they'd reply she is deep. She is deep, at least from a woman's perspective.

Sexist, only joking :-).

..we all got wranglings we go about on in life. (lol)

To wangle not wrangle lol, wangle, worm your way out of or make a deal to get to do what you want.
