Entertainment is one of the only truly universal experiences.
Sadly, however, it’s also a historically tough nut to crack into, if you’re a creative or anybody trying to advance an alternate agenda to that of the major networks and distributors.
It really is high-time somebody turned distribution funding transparent, for a more grounded, authentic entertainment experience.
With that said, we’re pleased to introduce LiveTree.
An established crowdfunding company from London, UK, we’re a socially responsible entity at the ground floor of a revolution in content generation.
Our mission? To create, develop and maintain a financial network for the benefit of creatives.
And it’s no pipe dream, either. Over the course of the last five years, we’ve captured 5% of the UK crowdfunding market (in the film and content category, specifically).
Today, we’ll be taking a closer look at our aims, structure, and some of the challenges facing the creative industry, and how we plan to make them a thing of the past.
Ready for something new? Aren’t we all?
Let’s get started.
A New Way To Fund, Generate And Distribute Content
Let’s start with a simple introduction of our system as it stands, presently.
For those of you who haven’t encountered crowdfunding before, the idea is relatively simple. The current system allows backers to support a project with monetary pledges. In response to this, the creators reward their backers with rewards, based on their investment.
Rewards vary in size, from advance tickets to signed scripts, photos, or one-on-one dinners with talent. It’s up to the creative putting together their funding package.
From LiveTree’s side, partnerships have already been made with several leading names in entertainment, including the British Film Institute Future Film, the Screen Arts Institute, Red Rock Entertainment and various other independent organizations. What this translates into is a wide range of supporters to choose from and lean on during your funding phase.
But how big of a support base could we really be talking about? At present, LiveTree has compiled a directory of 14,000 entertainment suppliers, across film, TV and other content.
It’s this pre-existing support base and standing experience that sets us apart from a lot of the other platforms entering the blockchain at the moment. Where another company might offer this approach to crowdsourcing, or that take on using cryptocurrency, where the heart and soul of LiveTree lie are in its experience and expertise in the actual industry it aims to service.
We know what it takes to make your project a reality. To make people aware of it, and to network in a way that makes your production worth all of the time and effort you put into it.
With our fully operational, reward-based crowdfunding system, the rewards and incentives you’ll be providing will create a space where both you and your backer are being rewarded for your passion.
But, before we get too ahead of ourselves, let’s take a look at some of the problems we hope to address with our system.
Problems Within The Entertainment Industry:
Every industry has its challenges, and entertainment is certainly no exception to that rule.
With our unique, sustainable crowdfunding platform, we hope to focus our attention on the following areas:
- Funding, creation, and distribution: There’s a misconception that because the entertainment industry is inherently creative, it’s not “serious enough” to warrant more coherent forms of funding. Projects and distribution are often funded in smaller parts, where accessible, adding up to a larger whole, which is an inconsistent and unreliable way to do business. Similarly, funding for the creation of new content comes in starts and stops, as broadcasters aren’t given adequate tools for evaluating the market potential of new projects.
- Content gatekeepers: With so many “big names” in broadcasting, both established and emerging, the market has become less and less accessible to content makers trying to make a direct connection with their consumers. Instead, these platforms curate and filter what content is available based on popularity, leaving many niche lovers of media (or even just those with specific tastes) wanting.
- A divide between traditional creativity and tech: It’s secret, the global economy has been tough on everybody in recent years, creatives more than most. It’s hard to balance the need to finance projects with a focused and unyielding creative approach, and creators are finding, more and more, that they have to rely on connections, even more than their craft. In order to overcome this, we’ve identified the need to promote development of creative content within a market-driven distribution and financing package.
Our Focus Areas
In order to address any problem, you need to understand where and how to approach that problem.
With LiveTree, we’ve done the research, and narrowed our focus down to a solution that spans three specific fields of interest:
LiveTree ADEPT: Gandhi said “Be the change you wish to see in the world,” and it’s a philosophy we apply to the value chain of the entertainment industry with LiveTree ADEPT. Our decentralized platform makes its business the reimagining of the creative process, from creation, through funding and on to distribution.
We conduct our digital rights management via Blossom, a revolutionary, decentralized platform that is set to make big changes in the way content is consumed and shared.LiveTree Seed: No blockchain system is complete without its own token system, and Seed is one of the most versatile ones out there. Supporting Adept, the Seed token’s aim is to level the playing field for creators and distributors.
As mentioned above, we take issue with gatekeepers. Seed’s value will be intrinsically linked to the demand for creative products, instead of being regulated by some higher body.
As the token is used throughout the system, it generates momentum and is further bolstered by subsequent repurchases through the secondary market.LiveTree Incubators: Everybody needs a safe place to start their career, especially in the creative field.
Our incubators are designed to be exactly that to both emerging and established creators.
It all starts with our partners, who happen to be Oscar-and-BAFTA-nominated filmmakers, gearing their services to advancing the careers of creative talent. Working hand-in-hand with ADEPT, these incubators help to generate content through their beneficiaries, creating top-of-the-line content for use in real-world industries.
An ADEPT Approach To Creativity
LiveTree’s Advanced Decentralized Entertainment Platform for Transparent distribution (or ADEPT, in case you were wondering) is a platform that connects creatives with backers in a way that makes sense to both parties.
For the first time ever, truly comprehensive backing is only a few clicks away.
