What do you do with your old torn clothes?
Before we talk about what we do with very old clothes that can't be repurposed, we will like you to know that we are currently doing a graduation countdown for ecoDesigns, a textile recycling and fashion designing hub that is training women and girls for free. The graduation countdown is aimed at raising funds to purchase more equipment for ecodesigns, pay rents as well as sponsor the graduation.

Countdown Day 9:
About scarecrows and old clothes
At ecodesigns, we have training our trainees as well as communities on how to transform clothes that can no longer be mended and reused into scarecrows.
Making a scarecrow is very simple and requires very little creative skills. All you need are your old clothes, 2 pieces of wood, your old clothes, nails and hammer.
Cut your wood into two pieces with one being twice or thrice longer than the other one depending on how big and tall you want your scarecrow to be. Use the hammer and nail to nail it into the form of a cross and then dress it with your old clothes.
Scarecrows of this type are generally referred to as Humanoid scarecrows because they usually dressed in old clothes.
Scarecrows are placed in farms to discourage birds from disturbing and feeding on recently cast seed and growing crops.
They are are used across the world by farmers, and are a notable symbol of farms and the countryside in popular culture.
