Aspiration Pneumonia Is Not Contagious Because It Is Caused By Inhaling Food Or Liquids Into The Lungs

Pneumonia is not an infectious disease. This disease cannot be spread from person to person. The fungus that causes this type of pneumonia is usually found in the soil. On the other hand, aspiration pneumonia is not contagious because it is caused by inhaling food or liquids into the lungs. Severe pneumonia can cause sufferers to experience shortness of breath and lack of oxygen. If this is the case, people with severe pneumonia need to be hospitalized. While undergoing treatment at the hospital, the doctor will give pneumonia medicines as well as oxygen therapy, if needed. In cases of pneumonia that are still relatively mild, sufferers do not need to be hospitalized. Treatment can be done at home by taking antibiotics prescribed by a doctor and getting plenty of rest and drinking. It should be noted to be careful because pneumonia can recur at any time. Therefore, it is better not to return to the routine until completely recovered. Ask your doctor if you're not sure. Also need to be kept hydrated. Drink plenty of fluids, especially water, to help loosen mucus in the lungs.
