TOP500 recently revealed China has surpassed the US in their list of “fastest supercomputers in the world.”
As US President Donald Trump was wrapping up business in Asia, TOP500 List, a table showing the 500 most powerful computer systems available commercially, announced China had outnumbered the US on the list by a margin of 202 to 143. While the numbers alone are not much to scoff at, six months ago the US led with 169 supercomputers on the list, compared to China's 160. The US' current total also ranks as the nation's lowest level since the TOP500 List's creation 25 years ago.
