Some days you just see things, that make you question what people are thinking. Okay probably everyday. This is one of those things. This is a picture of a house, and it use to be a mobile home, and the owners decided to add on to it. Okay I get that, new home permits are 30k in the area, while a remodel one is about 2k. Makes sense to try and keep part of it to save some money. 
Sorry for the terrible light the sun was setting, but the real part that drives me crazy is the roof. If you look directly from the side the house is still the same size as the double wide, but they just put this peak of a roof on so they can have attic space? or shed the snow fall. Not to mention this roof is like a 8 12 pitch and it is in the middle of a desert. Not a place that gets any snow, and the attic is going to be like 150 degrees in the summer. It is like a log cabin in the desert, and just looks so out of place. Maybe they are waiting for some sever climate change, and they are just ahead of the game. I am very interested to see the end result, and it looks like they are putting in about 200k, so I don't really know why they went this route.
I have no clue why they put this type of roof, but I have read that if you live under pyramid-type structures, you can get good health benefits :) May be they were thinking the same. :)

Ya, the quality looks good, but common the design is terrible. I would be fine with it if it snows here, but it doesn't. And they are throwing some serious cash at this project.
