My dog has a death wish...

Hello all, so today I wanted to introduce all you lovely Steemians to my dog Monty. He's not the smartest of dogs... and I'm pretty sure he has a death wish.

Monty is a two year old Cockapoo. Monty has survived a few suicide attempts including drinking bleach and trying to drown himself in a river. Let me explain in a little more detail:

About a year ago, we returned home to find Monty gnawing away at a bottle of bleach. His teeth had torn through the packaging and bleach was oozing onto the floor. Of-course we immediately cleaned up the mess and phoned the vet asking what to do. Thankfully Monty hadn't actually swallowed much bleach. The vet thought that the taste of it was probably vile enough to put him off - which surprised me considering dogs will usually eat ANYTHING.

Shortly after this, we had taken Monty on a walk to the park. There was a small river running along the edge of the park which Monty (off-lead) decided to investigate. Of-course being the foolish dog that he is, he decided to jump right in. Now you'd think that most dogs can swim... Monty however apparently couldn't as he began to splash about his little doggy paws in the water, gasping for air.

My step mum actually ended up jumping into the river and grabbing him to save him. I think he learnt his lesson however, as whenever we visited that park after that day, he NEVER went anywhere near that river.

I thought I'd better say that the dog in the picture is Monty when he was a puppy. He's a lot bigger and fluffier now (but still just as stupid) but I didn't have any good up to date pictures. I don't actually get to see Monty all that often as he lives with my dad and my step mum, but when I do get the chance to visit next, I'll be sure to take lots more pictures so that you can see Monty all grown up.
