The Queen and Her Husband Are Actually Cousins..!

Hello all, so here's a fact I bet you didn't know! It turns out that The Queen of England is actually cousins with her husband Prince Phillip. Well, almost... Technically they are third cousins, so it's not quite as bad; but the were in fact related before they got married! According to Business Insider Uk, 'Elizabeth is related to Queen Victoria on her father's side, and Philip is related to Queen Victoria on his mother's side.'

I want to know what your thoughts on this unusual marriage are. In my opinion, I wouldn't want to marry anyone I was even distantly related to, but as I've previously stated; love is love, and if that's what makes them happy, then so be it. Having said this, if they were first cousins it definitely would be a different situation.

But apparently Elizabeth and Phillip aren't the first royals to have taken part in such a union. Throughout history the royal family have done much worse - for instance marrying first cousins. Take probably one of the most famous examples: Queen Victoria and her husband Albert, who were indeed first cousins. No wonder she was always portrayed with such a grim expression on her face!

This all seems like child's play however when you go even further back in history and take a look at The Emperor Nero's reign in Rome. He married his step sister AND had an incestuous relationship with none other than his very own BIRTH MOTHER! It honestly makes me feel nauseous... I mean, the next thing we know is that there's going to be a scandalous article revealing that Donald and Melania are actually siblings AND that he was once engaged to his daughter Ivanka! It honestly wouldn't surprise me after reading all this (and knowing what Trump is like!)
