Saving the Pedal Boat! Mama Dreemit gets soaked (Video clip) Drenched young dreemits snicker...

in funny •  7 years ago  (edited)

Did I call the last windy/wavy Seneca Lake post ocean-like?

I actually had an entirely different post planned for today, but Mother Nature decided to change my plans with a panicked phone call from Mama Dreemit- "You havta get ov-ah he-ah right now, we're losing the boat!" She went on to declare she's "Nevah seen anything like it in all my thirty ye-ah's he-ah" (Her Long Island-NY City-accent never fails to add to the entertainment.)

Dreemit's young ones bail it out and tip it up

Mama Dreemit: "Yaw fatha' is laughin' his bum awff!" (Actually she realizes I'm recording and gets flustered about what word to use for arse)

The Wave gets Mama dreemit (Priceless reaction ;)

Deciding best course of action.

Bailing commences.

I originally was not going down the steps due to a tweaked back..which, erm, might have happened due to copious amounts of beer and dancing like a teenager last night... (Aging succkks!)

..But I really needed some close ups of the action.

As you saw in above video, they bailed on the bailing and tipped it up instead...

Wow! Those are some big waves!
Thanks for sharing this with us.

Definitely! My mom just cracks me up ;)

Lol, those waves are wild!! I'm surprised the little pier could take it!!

The metal posts for that dock are buried many feet down, the only thing we occasionally lose are some boards which my hubby repairs for them. Actually he had to repair a step today, my mom nearly went on her arse..err butt, err bum. lol. Three flights to get down, two decks, it's the reason I was in wicked shape as a teenager and the reason I'm not a cow now, haha, damn good work out.

That would be a giant work out!! So many stairs! You will have to come up with a word for ar..bu..bum. is like a drum roll lol.

Your mother's reaction to that splash was great. I couldn't hear very well, but it looked as though she was looking up to God and saying, "Really?" lol

I'm pretty sure that is what she was doing--(the wind and waves were so loud I couldn't hear her either) but my son whom she'd been ordering about for the past twenty minutes was looking up and saying 'Nice one!' lol

Mama Dreemit and the Little DreemTeam are quite entertaining. :P

Yup, my mother especially, she is pretty much always...exuberant. That's the word for her :)

I didn't have sound when I watched the video, but from the mannerisms alone, I could already tell it was hilarious haha! I was snickering as I saw Mama Dreemit's arms flail. I'm glad that the boat or anyone else from the party didn't get drifted away. Those waves.... Man, I'm quite the daredevil, but I would think twice swimming in that.

Too bad! It was hard to hear because the wind was so fierce, but if you put it up at full volume you could have heard the accent I'm always trying to emulate when I quote her lol.

With regard to the accent, I forgot to include it in the comment, but I kept hearing @meesterboom's accent instead of an Italian-American one as I was reading it, for some reason haha!

OMG those are really Mammoth waves hitting it was great to see the reaction of Mama dreemit

:)

That was a major chortle on this end. I love your MomDreemit drawl. Can just about hear her howling it out with the wind, since you were smart enough to stay far away up the stairs when the other's were down. She does look to be a real character. Imagine her to be a barrel of fun on a regular basis.

Amazingly wild waves, especially for a lake. Looks like the stormy ocean scenes on the TV news. Thanks for the entertainment, at your Mom and kids' expense. Glad it worked out and we got to see it on the tube.

Very interesting

That looks awesome, some fierce waves there, oceanic even. It also looks miserable to be standing near that cold wet spray. I believe your story about your back hurting too much to help with that task!

Ha! Actually I considered making my way down just to get some close ups, but decided the trip back up wasn't worth it in this instance. Sucks when I used to run up those three flights without breathing hard, and even now I can generally take the steps two at a time by mid-summer ;)
