So often when we visit offices in African countries, the furniture looks impressive but somehow doesn't fit human dimensions. Working in our office in Lusaka this week, I've experienced this challenge - nearly all the chairs put me at nose counterpart with the tables. That might be funny, except that working on a computer for most of the day with my arms in the T-Rex position just doesn't work from an ergonomic and demanding physiology perspective.

I found a solution. It looks ridiculous, but boy, does it work.

Yesterday, we found a chair that adjusts upwards. Fabulous! The only issue there is that like all such chairs, the gas mechanism means the chair gradually sinks.

Part two of the solution, therefore: get a hard box to put on the seat so that height is more or less maintained.

Cool, that's been done. But now for the art: I borrowed one of the useless cushions they use to decorate the beds in the hotel to put on the box which we put on the seat...well, you get the picture. And here's that picture:

Now we feel right.
