The accusation

I think this woman called herself Jennifer before she went off on a rant at politician Jagmeet Singh accusing him of being 'in bed' with "Sharia" and the Muslim Brotherhood. He must have a big bed given he is a practicing Sikh!

The exposé that never materialised

I was half hoping that our friend Jenny was going to pull out some leafy dossier exposing Jagmeet as not being a Sikh at all but a secret double agent working for a radical muslim organisation. Alas I was disappointed. She merely exposed herself as a bigot unable to distinguish a Sikh from a muslim and pulling half-baked accusations from her ass!

The affair that never was

Half way through the video Jenny says, "You wouldn't return my calls." When that happened, I thought the big reveal would be that she was the mother of his lovechild or something! Alas, I knew she wasn't his side-chick when he started saying "We love you and we support you." That is no way for a politican to treat a side-chick... the blueprint on how to handle such matters is already set in stone:

The un-grand finale

I'm pretty certain this woman was expecting to get frog-marched out by the mob to help re-enforce her narrative. However Jagmeet played a jedi mind trick on her. He let her have the stage and pretty soon she exited stage right. Not even crazy people want to stand around and listen to their own shit!

Public Health warning

But in all seriousness my politician friends... don't try this at home. Jagmeet may have emerged from this encounter smelling of roses... however it was a high risk strategy. Town hall type face-to-faces with your neighbourhood loony can easily leave your favourite politician pushing up daisies. It's a cold world out there.

She didn't strike me as the type of person that would respond well to logic.

She jumped up and stuck her finger inches away from the speaker's face and began screaming accusations to a Sikh about supporting Sharia law and the muslim brotherhood. She then screamed at volunteers and accused them of invading HER private space and even had the nerve to threaten to call the police on THEM.

Most politicians would have feared for their safety and let themselves be ushered out of the room. In the end nobody was hurt or arrested and they were able to carry on with the forum. All things considered, I think he handled it well. As for Jennifer, I hope she finds peace.

Very well handled. Yes you are right that there are many instances you could not handle this way. This one, I would say, was handled just right.

I've been through many aggressive situations in my life where love triumphed.

Who has suffered more in the name of Islam than the Sikhs? Here is a website detailing the torture murder of Sikh leaders and men, women and children. Love and Courage I support and I always say no to hate but recognizing the threat certain ideoligies pose is not hate its just good common sense.

If you looked up the definition of bigot bitch you would see a picture of "Jennifer" with the definition.

This is actually a great opportunity for this guy to prove his ideals and character. He did a great job and get a vote in my book just for how he handled this!

Thanks for posting and sharing this powerful example! May people learn to rather than degrade them selfs to the lows of attackers and traumatized people but to instead step up and show a higher example.

Jagmeet had a very strong response to this. In a statement he released after, he explained why he didn't tell the woman he was a Sikh, not a Muslim. He felt that if he had done that, he would have been suggesting that if he were a Muslim the rant would have been justified, which obviously wasn't the case.

It reminded me of the John McCain town hall where a woman started to say something about Obama being a Muslim, and McCain cut her off and said (paraphrasing) "No, he's a good man". Obviously I don't think McCain meant anything negative by that response, he was just trying to defend Obama as a person. But its easy to misspeak and say things in a way that validates the bigot's stance, so it was nice to see Jagmeet handle it perfectly.
