A young European team would like to break the public’s perception about free web content created by users. They believe that all content created on web platforms is something worthwhile and should be rewarded. Are the days of social networks and other online services, as we know them, that do not share their billion-dollar benefits with their users over?
Most content creators on the web are never paid for the content they create. From bloggers, passionate writers to forums to everyday social network users – almost no one is rewarded for their content. This has become self-evident today - online users justify this non-payment of their content by receiving free use of the platforms. Platforms related to user content such as Facebook, TripAdvisor, Snapchat, Yelp, Foursquare and others generate huge revenue from content that comes from users. But those are not even aware that due to their content deserve to be paid.

That is why Futourist platform was created. The team behind Futourist wants to change the foundations of the web content creation industry and will design it to be the first online review service platform to award writers and other content creators with a prize called Futourist Token (see "Content Token"). Users will be able to spend these digital tokens for money and spend it as they wish.
Ziga Luksa, head of the Futourist team, describes their product as "Upgraded TripAdvisor, which rewards its users in a concrete manner."
"Futourist solves the problem of content creators where only a handful of people manage to turn their content into profit, while most content creators remain without anything. Platforms related to content do not pay for their users to create, share, or edit content. Here comes Futourist - with monetization / rewarding of content. For example, someone who is regularly employed and creates content as a hobby has now the possibility of receiving tokens through helping other users of the web. This comes quickly and without much effort that was needed before reaching the point at which you began to generate revenue with your content," describes Luksa as their way to solve the problem of creators and adds: "At Futourist we will begin by rewarding reviews and votes. When we prove that this concept works, we will go to other business models, where other web content will also be rewarded. "
To understand what opportunity lies ahead - the revenues of online content industry in 2016 were worth more than $ 190 billion, and are expected to reach more than $ 313 billion by 2019. Lukša also thinks: "Imagine that only 1% of this would go back to the content creators. These are massive amounts. "
In order to kickstart Futourist, the team has partnered with the internationally renowned OpenHours Platform. This partnership will provide Futourist with already existing infrastructure, data and users and the Futourist team will upgrade OpenHours platform with the system of rewarding the content and the new business model. OpenHours has otherwise more than 1 million monthly users coming from 21 countries across Europe and America.
OpenHours data and users will help the Futourist team to achieve their goal - creating a platform that rewards its users - much faster.
Futourist joins the list of European companies based on blocking technology. Luksa adds on this subject: "The European, and especially Slovenian blockchain community where we come from is truly incredible, especially in terms of the size of our population. Slovenia as a country has the potential to become one of the super stars in the blockchain world. "
Futourist will therefore become the world's first platform to reward users for creating, sharing and editing content.
In order to develop and start the Futourist platform, the team is organizing a Token crowdsale and invites all who would like to see rewarding users for their content come alive to join the crowdsale which starts on 15th of February.
