I sat down with some friends the other day and started to talk about sci-fi movies.
You know, the ones you saw as a child. I'm born in 1991 and loved those films.
I saw everything from Fahrenheit 415, Blade Runner, Terminator to Matrix.
Like the most of you guys most probably did.
However we talked and and looked at the actual evolution of tech, companies and politics.
As you will see most things the people dreamed (like in movies) of in the 1980's and 90's are here, or at least in development.
An example, The fifth element, great movie, you know the scene where Leeloo drops down into the flying car of Korban?
Flying cars are comming! There is for example this german company "Lilium GmbH" next to munich germany. Or the flying taxi in Dubai.
Another example, the Terminator, ok ok it's an machine but anyway remember his interface? This red screen (which are actually his eyes) that scans stuff and checks diffrent light wavelengths.
This is comming also, Samsung made a Patent for Contactlenses that contain a camera.
The last thing I want to mention is the Machine Learning wave that goes through all the industries. From Jobs, to catch criminals everything will be smart in no time.
There are a lot more examples, like 3D-Printing (houses, organs, prosthesis etc.), Augmented and Virtual Relaity, Communication with out an interface (Mind to Mind) and a lot more!
What do you think? Do you have more examples or do you think the technology is going to destroy us?
Write it here!
