have not had the chance yet to get one of these, but it is so on my list. This phone has a very good price and amazing features, including a barometer.

It has a quad core 1.5Ghz cpu, 3Gb ram, 32Gb internal storage, runs Android 6, a 1280x7200 4.8" display but they will be upgrading soon to 7. But what really makes me want this more is it has a solid CNC block frame, bumpers, the screen is scratch and shatterproof and the punishment this thing can take is eye-popping:

Anyone who has spent long times away from power would appreciate that it has a 4500mAh battery (about twice average phones) and charges at 2A (my sony charges at 1.5A and most phones I have owned charge at 1A).

I hope some day soon I can get one... At a price of USD$200 it seems like a really good buy.

Note

I think there might be a couple of variants with slightly different specs.

I know two persons with such panzer-phones - both wear high army boots and camouflage, even in summer, one always tells some tales about war, another has pit-bull terrier. Because of these people I've just got usual androidphone ;) With my Jack-Russel terrier I would be out of style

I like boots and combat pants and knives and such... the bulk from the aluminium frame and fat battery are not selling points for most. But I been living in the trenches, I mean gutter, and weak gear is impractical.

I hope the average person never has to value things like this but I think they are stupid. Bad things happen. Ignoring it does not make it go away.

Fortunately, some people care. They will be ready.

Well, anyway if you want really robust thing, check - gadget must be MIL-810 standart compatible, not IP57 or 68 etc. There are such things on the market. (For really bad times i would rather recommend MIL810 compatible walkie-talkie, not phone. I have couple of them, hehe)

I believe the 6000 has a walkie talkie function also. but probably limited to ad hoc network connectivity.

still very cool!
