"People would drop their mouths if they saw the internal emails," says Fares.
Electronic Arts may not be the most popular publisher among videogame fans. Particularly in recent times, due to the controversial episode of the loot boxes of Star Wars Battlefront 2. However, not everything can be bad: Josef Fares, the charismatic manager in charge of A Way Out , has explained to VG247 that EA has a very favorable publication policy for independent games.
"I would love to make some internal mails known," explains Fares. "I think people would drop their mouths if they saw those emails - at least, the way EA treats me, it's all supportive." It is not difficult to give him credibility. It is well known, for example, that 100% of the benefits of this kind of independent productions go back to the study that produced them under the aegis of EA.
"I know nobody believes this, I say it all the time, all the publishers screw up at some point: Microsoft, Nintendo, I do not care" continues the creative. "And here's the point: when you're in the industry, everybody rages constantly, and that's rubbish, the only thing that should worry us is good video games."
A Way Out sold more than a million games shortly after its release. Comforted in the benefits, Hazelight is already working on his next videogame , although it is not at all clear what can be dealt with.
