"Even if eSports grows or the time spent in multiplayer, there is still room for narrative."
The editor Warner Bros. , who has in his power the videogames about Batman and, right now, also distributes the Hitman saga , has spoken through the mouth of its president, David Haddad, in an interview with the GamesBeat portal in which he talks about his preference for individual video games .
"In the past, and as I suppose you will have also found out in the present, we have a long history of building great worlds with great mechanics," said Haddad, explaining why Warner continues to make new games and studies. "Many of them are individual, and we continue to believe that even if eSports grows or the time spent in multiplayer, there is still space for narrative, stories, world building and creating long-term links with the players".
"We already know that this is not the approach that everyone in the industry has," said Haddad, who has the launch of Hitman 2 for this year and Dying Light 2 for the next one. "You have to work how you find the players who are interested in these experiences, how you offer them the service and how you distribute ... We must pay close attention to all this, but we believe that there is still room for all that.
Last year, in fact, Warner Bros. itself launched the videogames Middle Earth: Shadows of War and the fighting game Injustice 2 .
