The Perils of Saving Money or WHERE'S MY DLC CODE?

One of my favourite games of recent years is city builder Cities Skylines, made by Paradox Interactive. So far I have amassed 480 hours in game.

Hours just fly by as I do my best to keep my little sims happy and to create a prosperous city. Over the years Paradox has released 5 paid DLC packs, each adding something new to the game, from Snowfall with winter climate maps, adding trams to the cities, to Mass Transit which added ferries, monorails, cable cars and blimps, in addition to new assets.

I have bought all the DLC since launch as I find them reasonably priced and they add new life to the game. Imagine my eagerness to get my hands on the latest installment, Parklife. Here's a preview.

Due for launch today I waited for it to go live on the Steam Store.

As you can see, the release date is today! Whoop! So off I trot, add it to my cart and then stop. Maybe I can buy it cheaper on cdkeys.com? I've used them many times and have never had a problem. I log in with my account, search for Parklife and sure enough, it's a little cheaper.

Not that much cheaper, granted, but a saving is a saving, right? I clicked buy, paid the £10.49 and waited for an email with a link to my DLC code. Except this happened...

ARRRGGGHHHH!!!!!!

Today IS the 24^th. It actually went live some 9 hours ago. Damn my plans to stream my first look at the new DLC tonight. Sigh.

The moral of the story is don't be a cheapskate like me and try to save a tiny bit of money. It doesn't always work out.
