This video shows my initial idea for the save screen put together in a hurry to test the code, the images used will be replaced with proper art later and I might change it entirely, as you can see at the end of video: my computer have a hard time handling the animation and I'm sure touch devices can't handle it either.
The save load mechanism is a bit different in this game, you start with one save slot and you'll have to craft an item "Bottle on a rope" for additional save slots.
another limitation to the saving is how often you can save, you will have a limited amount of "Sands of time" that you can put in a bottle to save a moment of your existence in a bottle.
to be able to save more often, you need to collect this special type of sand from various sources it's not that rare, but not dirt cheap either.
For people with game OCD like me, constantly saving and loading to get the perfect score, chose the perfect route or even farm lots of money usually ruins the game itself and everything becomes saving and loading.
This should put an end to it and force you to live with your decisions, mistakes and their consequences.
