Valiants Hearts is a game that even comically shows how disastrous and horrifying was the first world war, with a cartoon aesthetic and different characters with a linear story that is not bad, this game is to tell a story, learn from the past and to realize the inhumanity of wars, a game to reflect on how atrocious that time was for Europeans.

If you have the opportunity to play it, I recommend it, and there is a lot of history and collectibles that have to do with the time, if you are studying and need to know about this topic, play it.

After 4 or 5 hours I remember a good part of how the war developed, its consequences and some cities involved.

--Jugability--

Well, the gameplay is simple, the arrows to move, the space to interact with the environment and the D to use an attack at close range, and the ALT to throw things.

You can only carry an object, the objects are used to complete tasks or puzzles.

And the power to control Walt a German doberman who helps you solve some problems in the battlefield, besides being able to caress him, practically the best that the game has ♥.

Only with these mechanics, the game has a very large variety of maps and puzzles.

We will see the story from several points of view, sometimes making jumps in time to explain how a certain character is currently intertwining stories and moments. Something very peculiar is that it lacks dialogues, all without exception communicate by stammering and graphically with images expressing what their babbling means. Some characters if they can understand something, if you know English, French or German can understand some conversations that do not last more than 6 seconds

There is a notebook that gives you historical information about what happened in this war, such as data on cities or strategies used by both the Axis and the Allies.

--History--

Throughout the game we are controlling different characters, mainly we are an elderly man named Emile who was a grandfather in 1913, living on a farm with his daughter Marie, his son-in-law Karl and his grandson Victor.

In 1914 the war breaks out and the son-in-law who is of German nationality forces him to leave the country, while our protagonist is called to arms to go to the front with the French Infantry Regiment No. 150.

This moment the whole family is separated and also fighting against, since the town where they were was one of the first to fall.

Beginning this way his crossing in the French militia.

--Graphics--

It has a cartoon style that is characterized by looking like a cartoon rather than a video game, the thick lines and the range of muted colors were used for the cartoons of the time, moving the gameplay to cinematic in a fluid way.

Although it is graphically beautiful and its use of mechanics are almost perfect, I found several bugs, none were serious but they were noticeable and they take a bit of context, like the repetition of certain sound effects or visual glitches.

--Soundtrack--

Just listen to it for yourselves, I'll just say that it's a majestic piece and expresses very well what the game wants to convey.

Apart from this there are many more that are worth listening to, but I leave that to you.
