Last week we started a new task. A school in our town asked us whether we can teach their students game development.
The students want to make a game for an art project in which they have the choice what they make. Of course we're happy to see that some choose a game. So far we guided three groups. And it's a joy to see that even in only three groups you see totally different directions in how to make a game.
One group is very serious on using Scratch. It's something they know. It's of course not targeted to make extensive games but if you've ever visited the Scratch website

Another group has set their target on Python. Which took us by surprise as we all know Python is very much in development for games but certainly not there yet. So that also makes us curious. They're making a 2D platform game, Python is already very well suited for that.
And last but not least, we've got the group which has definitely the least experience in game development. Didn't know yet what to use. We advised them to go straight for Unity3D as that is a professionally used platform. Can't start too early to learn that (well, that's not exactly true, but in this case it isn't too early).
