In my last posting on the trial Honey Badger Radio agains The Mary Sue and Calgary Comics and Entertainment Inc. I said that the judge want's to “get it all right”.
Sadly that wasn't actually the case.
Not only did the judge decide against Honey Badger Radio he also got most of his reasoning wrong. Especially because of this faulty reasoning Honey Badger Radio is considering an appeal.
With emphasis on considering. Appeals are incredibly expensive. The trial transcript alone was over more then $5000 and the appeal fundraiser is at at over $30000 — including the transcript which is already funded.
Honey Badger Radio can only continue if they receive enough funds. Even if you aren't a mens rights activists you should consider helping out because this ruling effects anyone with dissenting ideas as explained on the appeal fundraiser:
This ruling establishes a precedent that corporations are justified in breaking contracts with individuals the media has painted as “unsavoury.” This gives media the ability to remove a citizen’s civil contract rights in Canada as it wishes.
This ruling will assist any efforts of the authoritarian left—or those sympathetic—to remove dissenter’s ability to participate fully in the financial system of the west. Other examples include Richard Spencer being targeted by master card and/or Patron and Milo being targeted by PayPal.
This currently directly targets supporters of GamerGate and Men’s Rights activists, but it also will extend to conservatives. The Canadian government is already discriminating against conservative Christian beliefs in government grants.
If we let this slip we give corporations a power most governments don't have: Take our human right to free speech away.

Making a rational argument the panel does not like to hear and as a result getting kicked of a convention and be slandered by a well known magazine is not right. This is not how debate in a free society should be.

Update in the trial Honey Badger Radio against [Calgary Expo](Calgary Expo) and The Mary Sue. The next trial date will be around the US independence day. But since the trial is in Canada that won't matter.
