Cracking Some Packs - Magic the Gathering - Onslaught Block (Part 1)

in games •  7 years ago  (edited)

Here is part 1 of 2 of me opening a pack from every set in the Onslaught block. This was an amazing block to draft. Legions was the only set to have nothing but creatures, which was really fun to mini-master (Each person makes a deck from a single pack of cards). I remember standard being absolutely brutal then, with nothing but tribal decks.

Onslaught had some great cards like Kamahl, instant overrun each turn if you had the mana. Biorhythm that ended the game if your opponent didn't have any creatures. Also, Akroma's Wrath, one of the best board wipes in the game.

I really want to buys some more old packs to open in the near future after I upload a handful of these old videos I'd like to share. I'm thinking of maybe buying a bunch of cheap vintage stuff like Fallen Empires / Homelands. Cheap and fun packs to open just to feel how good the build quality of the cards were and see how awesome the art use to be, before corporate intervention to creativity.

So, I think I'm giving up on d.tube. I think the idea is great, but the function isn't there. I wouldn't mind them getting 25% of my revenue if the site worked. I tried browsing around and couldn't get a single video to load... It is a struggle to upload a video, like takes 3-5 attempts to get something uploaded. If d.tube starts to work I'll switch back. For now, I'm going to slowly re-upload my old "Cracking some Packs" series and blog about it here to share. Sorry for the potato quality video, this was taken on a phone seven years ago. Continued disclaimer, do not go to the old blog, it's been down for years.
